Alfa pilot’s club

Liekis’s pilots’ club ‘Alfa’ was founded in 2004 in memory of a pilot instructor Alfonsas Liekis (1939-1998).The organization continues aviation path he had started by popularizing aviation amongst the public, creating various projects and putting Lithuania aviation’s name out there. The roots of our aviation stretches to 1957 when the first gliding club was in creation in Šilutė, led by Vladas Kensgaila, (Alfonsas Liekis was an active collegue of his), back in the days when Bronius Oškinis, the patriarch of gliding in Lithuania, was creating his constructions.
In the present ‘Alfa’ pilots’ club is a member of Lithuania’s Aeroclub (LAK) and Ultralight Aircraft Pilots’ Federation (ULAPF). ‘Alfa’ club unites people of various age and proffesion, the ones that fly and the ones that are willing to fly. From 2005 the club has an ultralight aircraft pilots’ school accredited by the CAA, that teaches to fly and gives Ultra Light Aircraft (ULA) pilot licenses, that are accredited in all Europe and other countries. Until 2009 almost 30 ULA pilot licenses were handed out. The school has professional aviators – instructors, whose experience would be properly valued worldwide by any aero club.
Liekis’s pilots’ club ‘Alfa’ is the official distributor of ‘Flight Design’ (Germany) to the Baltic region, representing the company and its’ manufactured CT aircrafts. Flight Design, making the CT aircraft, is the absolute leader in the Ultra Light Aircraft market.
