Flight across Europe 2008!
On the summer of 2008, three Kaunas aviators’ crews completed a route almost 9 thousand kilometers long in just a bit more than a week, after taking off from Kaunas. Six of the club’s crews successfully reached the Strait of Gibraltar, made it back to the starting point. During the journey they flew over Poland, Germany, France and Spain. Estimated time of flight 46 hours, flying 5-6 hours every day, Europe was covered in 8 days. The journey was planed for nearly a years’ time. The project was supported by aviators from various countries. Lithuanian pilots were joined mid-air by German pilots, later also joined by the Spanish, French and English. At the ending point of the route, there were so many as 20 ultra light CT aircrafts forming the squadron.
